BECOME A LONG’S PARK ART FESTIVAL VOLUNTEER
We are excited that you have chosen to volunteer at the 2017 Long’s Park Art Festival. Please take a few minutes to read through our volunteer job descriptions to find the position(s) that are right for you!Pre-Festival Set Up: Wednesday, August 30 and Thursday, August 31: We need help hanging signs and flags and setting up fencing around the perimeter of the park. Extra hands are needed to set up tables in the Bistro, Guest Services and Admission Gate tents. It can be a dirty job, and it must all be done by the end of Thursday evening. A strong back and a willing spirit are helpful. Post- Festival Close Down: Sunday, September 3: It takes two days to set up, but we closed it all down and put everything away in a few hours after the Festival closes at 5:00 PM Sunday. Help is needed to take down flags, signs, fencing, and tables and load materials into our storage area at the Park. You might get dirty, but you’ll have fun too. Admission Ticket Sales: Greet our guests as they enter the Festival, sell tickets, stamp guests’ hands for admission, and answer guests’ questions. Admission Verification: Greet our guests after they have purchased their tickets, verify their hand-stamp and provide Festival Directories to guests. Raffle Art Gallery: Answer questions about the Raffle and the artwork on display. Protect the raffle items donated by our artists. Guest Information: Many guests visiting the Festival come from outside our area and may need suggestions about where to find overnight lodging, great restaurants, and nearby attractions. If you’re good at providing directions to someone who is not familiar with the area or sharing all the great things there are to do in Lancaster Co, then this is the job for you! Booth Sitter: Many artists are here on their own and have no one to spell them when they need a break from their booth. You’ll have a chance to interact with our guests as you sit in several exhibitors’ booths as they take a 15 minute break. Runner: Did you know that we often help guest tote their purchases back to the parking lot? We need golf cart drivers to transport guests with large/bulky/heavy packages back to their cars. (We provide the golf carts.) You may also be asked to run simple errands or deliver supplies within the Festival. Gate Sitter: Monitor the access gate used by musicians and workers at the Susquehanna Style Bistro. Bistro Attendant: Welcome guests to the Bistro area, answer questions and provide assistance as needed. Place tablecloths and fresh flowers on tables in the Bistro area in the morning and removed at the end of the day. Handicapped Parking Attendant: Direct vehicles to open spaces in the handicapped parking areas. Give directions as needed.
