Exhibitor Prospectus
Every Labor Day weekend finds some 20,000 art lovers
flocking to Long's Park to shop for fine arts and crafts. This top
rated show draws sophisticated, high income buyers from Philadelphia,
Baltimore, across Central Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Virginia,
West Virginia, Washington, DC, New York and beyond thanks to the
quality of its exhibitors and extensive marketing throughout the
region. Set in an old, tree-lined park where booths line walkways
surrounded by a tranquil, freshwater lake, Long's Park treats its
guests to a virtual outdoor gallery of the best work being created.
Across 34 years, Long's Park has fostered very special relationships
with its exhibitors. Booth fees include three catered breakfasts,
an exhibitor picnic, and advance mailing services. In addition,
RV accommodations have been expanded within the park. Plus, partnerships
with a precious number of community hosts who offer guest housing
on a first-come/first serve basis.
JURYING INFORMATION:
This competitive show partners with about 200 exhibitors who are
chosen by two independent juries of talented and experienced, 2D
and 3D fine artists and craftspeople. All participants in the 2012
show will be chosen by this jury with the exception of exempted
members from our past two juries and up to 10 exhibitors who may
be named by the Festival Director for show balance.
EXHIBITOR STANDARDS:
All work must be of original design handcrafted and produced under
the direct supervision of the creator. The work exhibited and the
booth must match the quality and style of the work as represented
in the submitted digital images.
Jewelry may only be submitted for jurying in the jewelry category.
Only artists accepted in the jewelry category may display and sell
jewelry.
For two dimensional works, at least 75 percent of the hanging artwork
must be either originals or limited edition prints. All prints must
be so marked, and bins must be kept to a minimum. If browse bins
are part of the booth display, they must be shown as part of the
submitted digital image of the booth.
All participating exhibitors in the 2012 show are responsible for
collecting and reporting 6% PA Sales Tax. Only wearable apparel
is exempt from PA Sales Tax.
Proper insurance and protection of work is the responsibility of
the exhibitor.
APPLICATION DEADLINE:
Applications for jurying must be submitted on or before February
27, 2012. Double booth space and electrical service will be allocated
on a first come, first serve basis. All accepted applicants will
be notified via email ONLY on April 16, 2012. A list of the invited
exhibitors will be posted on www.longspark.org at that time.
ARTIST ATTENDANCE:
The artist/craftsperson whose work has been accepted MUST BE
present for the duration of the show to meet our guests. All collaborating
partners, if listed on this application, must be in attendance.
A picture ID of artists and all partners will be required at the
time of check-in.
The show is open rain or shine. Exhibitors should be prepared for
inclement weather.
BOOTHS:
Booth spaces are approximately 10' wide by 10' deep. Double (20'
wide by 10' deep) booths are also available. The show is held in
an outdoor park; exhibitors should be prepared to adapt to irregular
asphalt or dirt ground surfaces AND fence posts in their
booth space. Fence posts may not be removed. All exhibitor tents
must be white in color. Double-sized tents (10x20) must
be properly permitted as required by Lancaster City's fire code.
The permit fee is typically included in any rented tents. Exhibitors
bringing their own tents are responsible for securing a permit.
ALL EXHIBITORS MUST BRING THEIR OWN FIRE EXTINGUISHER AND HAVE
THE EXTINGUISHER READILY AVAILABLE WITHIN THEIR BOOTH TO COMPLY
WITH LANCASTER CITY FIRE CODE.
ELECTRICITY:
Electricity may be purchased for two-thirds of our booth locations.
Booths 1 through 198 may be powered with up to 400 watts of electricity
(800 watts for double booths). Visit our website for a festival
map. Booths on the inside circumference of the lake - Booth 199
through 312 - may only be electrified by exhibitor supplied, marine
style batteries.
BOOTH FEES:
Single Booth (10' x 10') - $510.00
Double Booth (10' x 20') -$645.00
Single Booth Electricity - $80.00
Double Booth Electricity - $125.00
Cancellation Policy:
All cancellation requests must be in writing. (Email is acceptable.)
If we receive your withdrawal request by May 18, 2012, we will retain
a $50 processing fee and refund the remainder of the booth fee and
the entire electric fee (if purchased). If we receive your cancellation
request by July 13, 2012, we will retain a $50 processing fee and
refund 50 percent of the remainder of the booth fee and all of the
electric fee (if purchased). No booth refunds will be made for cancellations
made after July 14, 2012.
DIGITAL IMAGES:
Applicants must submit five color digital images, via the ZAPP application.
Four images must show individual pieces representative of current
work. The fifth image must be of the booth display that will be
used at the show with the full range of work displayed. Your display
image should reveal no names and have no people standing in it.
Booth images containing names or people will not be accepted.
NONCOMPLIANCE:
Any artist not in compliance with the aforementioned standards,
rules and/or regulations will be asked to leave the festival grounds
immediately and will not be eligible for a refund. The decision
of the Festival Director is final and not subject to appeal or arbitration.

Submission of an application is a commitment to participate in the
2012 Long's Park Art & Craft Festival. The applicant(s) certifies
that he/she/they is/are the sole designer or co-designer of the
work shown in the submitted slides, and he/she/they will be in attendance
for the entire show. The work was produced under his/her/their supervision
and typifies the work to be exhibited.
The applicant(s) agrees that he/she/they will be open for business
during the official show hours unless the Long's Park Art &
Craft Festival Director closes the Show. Collaborating partners
must be present throughout the show.
The applicant(s) does hereby and forever discharge the Long's Park
Art & Craft Festival Director, the Long's Park Amphitheater
Foundation and the City of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, of and from
all manner of actions, suits, damages, claims and demands whatsoever
in law or equity, from any loss or damage to the applicant's property
while in the possession, supervision or auspices of the Long's Park
Art & Craft Festival Director, the Longs Park Amphitheater
Foundation, the City of Lancaster, Pennsylvania and their agents,
representatives or employees. The applicant(s) also authorizes the
use of the digital images submitted with this application for Festival
publicity or documentation.
The Longs Park Art & Craft Festival Director reserves the right
to make final interpretation of all rules.
