OVER 50 YEARS OF MUSIC

Now in its 56th season, the Summer Music Series is regarded as a top musical entertainment destination in one of the best outdoor venues in Central PA. These free concerts are made possible through the generosity of individuals and corporate partners. Proceeds from the Long’s Park Art Festival are the other important component to our funding process. People power pulls it all together! Through the efforts of hundreds of volunteers and guided by a dedicated Board of Directors, the Long’s Park Amphitheater Foundation is excited to offer these outstanding performances. Thank you for being a part of this wonderful community event.

All concerts are rain or shine, with only thunderstorms and dangerously high winds cancelling the event.

Ed Palermo is not a “business as usual” musician. After all, when most people think of “big bands” they think of Duke and Dorsey. But go to see Ed Palermo’s Big Band, and you might hear Zappa, Hendrix, the blues of Paul Butterfield and Mike Bloomfield, or one of Palermo’s own compositions, loaded with lush turns and unexpected twists. Jazz pianist Gil Evans wonderfully articulated Palermo’s unusual approach to traditional instrumentation: “I first heard Ed Palermo’s music in a small…
